Shandur Polo Festival 2025 Kicks Off June 20

The world-renowned Shandur Polo Festival is scheduled to begin on June 20, 2025, at the highest polo ground on Earth — 12,000 feet above sea level. The three-day festival will bring together top polo teams from Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan in a legendary rivalry, drawing thousands of spectators from around Pakistan and abroad. Aside from thrilling polo matches, the festival will host folk music, cultural performances, tent villages, and local cuisine to celebrate the unique mountain heritage. The Tourism Department has made arrangements for transport, security, and accommodation. The festival is more than a sporting event — it’s a symbol of Chitrali pride, unity, and tradition. Authorities are urging visitors to plan ahead due to limited lodging availability in nearby Mastuj and Laspur valleys.
